HUNTING
It is very important that our dogs have fun when they are learning to retrieve and are started on birds as soon as possible.  We use a variety of birds and bumpers to get our dogs use to different sizes, smells, textures, and weights.

Teaching our dogs to swim, making it fun, and keeping their enthusiasm about the water is also very important.  All of our dogs are introduced to the water at early ages.  A big key is to check the water tempature and make sure it is warm.  Water too cold will make this experience very unpleasant and will detour them from wanting to "play" in the water.

Each dog learns differently and not all methods work for every dog.  A good trainer has the ability to draw on their knowledge, modify their training techniques, and find which method or combination of methods work best.

In the field hunting and having fun!!
